The Illinois Weseyan University chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi inducted 23 new members during a ceremony held April 15, 2023, at the Center for Natural Science. The Society is the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Founded in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi inducts approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni annually. The Society has chapters on more than 325 select colleges and universities in the United States, its territories and the Philippines. Membership is by invitation only to the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students and 7.5 percent of juniors. Faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction also qualify. The Society's mission is "To recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and engage the community of scholars in service to others." The Collegiate Choir from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill., will perform in six locations throughout Illinois during the 2023 spring concert tour. The IWU Collegiate Choir is composed of students representing the School of Music and other areas of the University, and is dedicated to the performance of the finest sacred and secular choral music spanning six centuries and a variety of languages. Students in the choir are selected by audition and maintain a rigorous rehearsal schedule in preparation for their annual spring concert tour and other engagements throughout the year. The choir has presented concerts in Italy, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Spain, Germany, France, Poland, and South Africa.

Illinois Wesleyan University honored more than 400 candidates for graduation during Commencement on May 1, 2022. Dr. William Farrar '71, considered to be one of the nation's foremost experts in cancer care and chief executive officer of The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, delivered the Commencement address.
