Illinois Wesleyan University Students Tour with Collegiate Choir

The Collegiate Choir from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill., will perform in six locations throughout Illinois during the 2023 spring concert tour. The IWU Collegiate Choir is composed of students representing the School of Music and other areas of the University, and is dedicated to the performance of the finest sacred and secular choral music spanning six centuries and a variety of languages. Students in the choir are selected by audition and maintain a rigorous rehearsal schedule in preparation for their annual spring concert tour and other engagements throughout the year. The choir has presented concerts in Italy, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Spain, Germany, France, Poland, and South Africa.

Ring '21 Wins Young Adult Winds and Brass Category at International Competition

After earning a coveted spot in the Music International Grand Prix Solo Competition finals, music education major Lindsay Ring '21 went on to win first place in the competition's Young Adult Winds and Brass category.

Students Tour with Illinois Wesleyan University Collegiate Choir

The Illinois Wesleyan University Collegiate Choir is making six appearances on the 2020 spring concert tour from Feb. 29 - March 20. The Collegiate Choir's itinerary includes performances in South Africa and Illinois. In South Africa, the Choir will present a joint concert with the University of Stellenbosch Chamber Choir at the renowned Woordfees cultural arts festival in Stellenbosch. This festival is the largest of its kind in the country and includes music, visual arts, theatre, writers' and film festivals, among other offerings. The Collegiate Choir is the first American choir to be invited to perform at Woordfees. The Choir will present additional concerts in the Cape Town and Stellenbosch areas, including a performance at a rural township school.
